Folklore group Karička
In 2010, folklore fans led by Anka Hrabčáková Hradský founded the Slovak Folklore Ensemble "Karička" in San Diego, California. The main goal of our ensemble is to preserve and develop folk and cultural traditions and customs from the Slovakia as well as from neighboring Moravia and Bohemia, thus cultivating traditional and stylized folklore.
The Karička Ensemble presented itself to our compatriots for the first time at the first compatriot folklore festival in San Diego in 2011. In addition, other performances followed at the San Diego Fair, Octoberfest, and annually at a short program organized by the Czech-Slovak House in San Diego, where the ensemble had very positive response.
