MORAVA FOLKLORE ENSEMBLE
Morava
Folklore Ensemble was established in 1987 as an auxiliary organization of St.
George Serbian Orthodox Church. As ambassadors of Serbian culture and heritage,
one of its main goals is to increase public awareness of folklore by presenting
high quality dance and vocal performances. Dobrila Undheim, Artistic
Director, continues the forward movement and expanded involvement in the local
community. Dobrila’s vision is to bring the beauty of Serbian folklore circle
dances ("kolo") to non-Serb audiences and to expand relationships
with other like-minded dance groups. Sava Ninkovic, instructor since 2011, has
shared his love of "kolo" with the next generation. Guest instructor,
Lazar Ruzicic, on loan to Morava from Talija Artisitic Company in Belgrade,
Serbia, has been instrumental in helping preserve the art of folklore. Current
Instructor, Sinisa Ristic, is expanding the styling and technicalities of
Serbian folk dance. Morava participates in cultural events throughout the United
States and has performed worldwide to audiences in the United Kingdom,
Australia, Canada, Switzerland and Serbia. FIND US ON FACEBOOK! www.stgeorgeinsd.com.
